By Jason Rip

John Turner, Demis Odanga

Music Director Stephen Holowitz

A World War One drama that cuts, with a precise and feeling eye, to the heart of war and paints a detailed portrait of war on the home front.

When Danny Gamble cannot join the army because of hearing loss he becomes fixated on ostracizing the local German citizens of the Southern Ontario town where he lives. The results reveal dark prejudices that reside in the town that are galvanized by war. Juxtaposed to Danny is the Big Lad, a peaceful boy who looks bigger than his age and becomes an unwilling soldier and hero.
