Jason Rip shares stories of 19th Century Southwestern Ontario’s macabre past from Phoebe Campbell to Jumbo the Elephant, The Listowel Ripper...and even Great Lake Sea Serpents.

“Jason Rip starred in AlvegoRoot’s inaugural production, Grimes of the Borough, fifteen years ago. An ever-encouraging friend and collaborator, Jason was one of the first people to believe in AlvegoRoot. AlvegoRoot would simply not be AlvegoRoot without Jason. Audiences fondly remember Jason performing in Endgame, Waiting for Godot and The Wind in the Willows; and our productions of his plays including Beard and The Big Lad. So it is very fitting, and I am delighted to have Jason back to AlvegoRoot to be part of our 15th Birthday Celebrations!” - Adam C-H

AlvegoRoot creates work on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Attawandaron peoples as well as nations both recorded and unrecorded who have been caretakers of this land for time immemorial.  These lands are connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.
