In this workshop, Artistic Director Adam Corrigan Holowitz and Associate Artistic Director Kydra Ryan share strategies and insights into producing independent theatre.

This workshop is for you if you have always wanted to produce a play, but the thought of trying made you want to curl up under the covers. Or you’ve been doing the theatre thing, maybe putting on a show or two a year, but the process is getting exhausting and you are looking to recharge with some new producing skills.

Our goal is to help get theatre-makers making theatre more frequently by streamlining the process so precious energy is being put where it needs to go.

Being an independent producer means being a jack-of-all-trades and we’ll share insights into every facet that we feel qualified to talk about. Including the best practices for creating a safe and creative work environment. As well as:

Marketing
Branding
Grant Writing
Fundraising
Budgeting
Scheduling
Design

AlvegoRoot creates work on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Attawandaron peoples as well as nations both recorded and unrecorded who have been caretakers of this land for time immemorial.  These lands are connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.
