2014:
NORTHERN DAUGHTER
By Donna Creighton
Directed by Louise Fagan

Performed by Donna Creighton

Through a mixture of mediums, including music, story and perhaps even some poetry, Donna Creighton creates a reminiscent world that both celebrates unique northern traditions and draws a strong poignant wilderness narrative.

AlvegoRoot’s final production of the year will be the world premiere of ensemble member Donna Creighton’s one woman musical NORTHERN DAUGHTER. The play is an “auto-bio-fictional” account of Mary Mud from Mud Creek who grows up in the Canadian bush. Hilarious, reminiscent and tad quirky NORTHERN DAUGHTER is a love letter to Northern Ontario and the nature that informs the life style.

AlvegoRoot acknowledges that we create work on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Attawandaron peoples as well as nations both recorded and unrecorded who have been caretakers of this land for time immemorial.  These lands are connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.
