    ​General Auditions - December 17 2025

     AlvegoRoot Theatre (in London Ontario Canada) will be holding general auditions on Wednesday December 17  from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Please send us an email with the information below and will be in touch with a time slot and more information. You will be asked to read a scene with Kydra Ryan (ensemble member/associate artistic director), you have the option to also perform a monologue if you wish in addition to reading. Audition sides will be sent to you ahead of time. 

    You can request a zoom audition if you do not live in London Ontario. If you are unable to audition on the specified date, please let us know and we will do our best to offer you an alternate time.

    Information on General Auditions 
    We welcome all actors to audition. AlvegoRoot is a professional company with a community focus. While our primary objective is to provide opportunities for professional artists, we are also able to provide opportunities for early career artists and community members. A
    rtists of all backgrounds; gender, age, culture, ethnicity, national origin, religion/creed, people living with disability, neurodiverse, LGBTQ2S+ are encouraged to audition.

    In attendance: Adam Corrigan Holowitz (artistic director of AlvegoRoot Theatre), Kydra Ryan (associate artistic director).

    Information on AlvegoRoot's Programming 
    AlvegoRoot Theatre supports the work of local playwrights and puts local stories onstage. 2026 marks AlvegoRoot Theatre's 18th Season. AlvegoRoot presents theatre year-round; with three major productions annually along with smaller theatrical events and concerts. Each year in June or July, AlvegoRoot creates a summer theatre production at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Trademarks of AlvegoRoot's work are language-rich plays which bring complexity and endearing wit to regional stories and experiences. We are deeply inspired by the works of James Reaney and frequently produce his plays and plays influenced by his style.

    Please send an email to [email protected] (addressed to Adam Corrigan Holowitz).

    Include your headshot, resume, and a brief cover letter to give us a sense of yourself as an artist. In addition, please also let us know the following information:

    ​1) Include your phone number, email, preferred pronouns, and the city/town/region where you live.

    2) Would you like to A) read sides or B) read sides and perform a monologue?
    ​(Sides will be provided to you ahead of time and you will be reading with associate artistic director, Kydra Ryan).

    3) Would you like to audition in person or on Zoom?

    4) What is your general availability? Daytime? Evening? Both? Do you have a job that is flexible during tech week? (rehearsals are flexible, but tech week is always during the day - except for in our upcoming 10 minute play festival, they are in the evening).

    5) Are you a member of the Canadian Actors' Equity Association?


    Auditions will held at The Manor Park Memorial Hall, 11 Briscoe Street West. The space is fully accessible with an elevator. It is within a block of several bus routes and there is free parking. Please let us know if there are any other accommodations we can provide to make the experience more comfortable for you.
